CILS International Awarded Cyber Essentials Accreditation
Computer Imprintable label systems (CILS) is pleased to announce that it has been awarded Cyber Essentials Accreditation, a UK Government-backed, industry supported scheme established to protect organisations against common cyber-attacks.
The Cyber Essentials scheme is a cyber security standard against which organisations can be assessed and certified. It identifies the security controls in place within IT systems and mitigates the risk from Internet-based threats. It focuses on five essential mitigation strategies:
- Boundary Firewalls and Internet Gateways
- Secure Configuration
- Access Control
- Malware Protection
- Patch Management
To comply with guidelines, CILS has undergone a detailed risk assessment to ensure it is protected against common cyber threats including data protection.
CILS Managing Director Oliver Stockton Commented “As a manufacturer and supplier of Computer Imprintable durable labels within many Government supply chains we take cyber security very seriously as it is essential to safeguard and protect our customers’ business and data. We are proud to have been awarded this certification and understand its importance to our customers.
All Government suppliers must now be compliant with the new Cyber Essentials controls if bidding for new contracts which involve handling of sensitive and personal information and provision of certain technical products and services.
