Configure your label

Create your own asset tags

Asset managers are increasingly turning to their IT departments to bring asset label printing ‘in-house’ by purchasing an asset label printer and consumables, particularly large service organizations, councils, laboratories and hospitals, etc.

Printing your own durable asset labels provides design flexibility to print whatever asset data you want onto the label, removes an often-complicated label re-order process for printed labels, significantly reduces costs and you will have asset labels immediately to hand.

All you need to print your asset tags (labels) is a Thermal Transfer printer which has basic software good enough to print basic asset number sequences which will cost a few hundred pounds. If you want greater flexibility with your label designs, Nicelabel Designer Express retails at just over $300 and will be more than adequate to create a stand-alone design/print station.

Printing your own asset labels also opens up a greater choice of durable labels with more adhesive and durability options.

Blank labels are the most economical and you can print whatever you like. Professionally part pre-printed labels are a popular choice and look great. These labels can be supplied with a colorful generic label design perhaps featuring your logo and address, and the rest of the label is blank for you to print whatever you want.

The only other thing you will need is a ribbon correctly matched to the label you will be using to get the durability that you need.

When working with us we make things simple by qualifying:

  • How and when you wish to print your asset labels
  • What you might like to print on the labels
  • The environment where the asset labels will be used (we have asset id labels suited for industry and laboratories)
  • The quantities you will need.

We then provide you with printer and label options and walk you through the set up once you have ordered and received the printer.

Thermal transfer printers do not exclusively print asset labels and once in situ, are often used for other durable labeling purposes.

The small investment for an ‘in-house’ asset tag (label) printer often pays for itself very quickly.
