Avoid extra UL label costs with UL ‘combination’ or ‘custom’ labels

As soon as you have received UL certification for your products you will need to display the UL Mark to demonstrate that your products are UL certificated. Once you have followed the instructions from UL to create the correct UL Mark you will be ready to order your labels.

If all that you need is a label that shows the approved UL Mark and nothing else, they are called ‘Standard labels’ which you can buy from your local UL Label Center or a PGAA approved label suppliers such as CILS International. They do not need to be UL969 approved but do need to be durable enough to stay intact and legible otherwise the product loses its UL certification. It is well worth shopping around to get the best price and correct durability.

Buying ‘Standard Labels’ is ideal if it is going to be the only label on your product, but if it isn’t, it’s an extra expense on top of your existing labels and the new compliance fees that you are having to pay.

It is highly likely that you have a label on your product that carries data and information such as a serial number, part number, barcode, instructions, warnings, etc. so why not incorporate the UL Mark into your existing design? You won’t then need the extra label and cost.

As a standard part of our service, we offer free design services to our customers to create label artwork for the first time or re-design their existing label artwork to incorporate the UL Mark. We also have a large range of labels recognized under UL969 to make sure the label stays compliant if it is considered a recognized component of your product.

Note that you cannot buy ‘composite’ or ‘custom’ labels from UL, you have to buy them from a PGAA approved label supplier such as ourselves.

Just tell us what you need or show us your existing label design and UL Mark, and we will design a cost-effective UL label for you and guide you through the label approval process with UL.
