Freezer safe labels for 2ml cryovials

We were recently contacted by a senior research scientist that was concerned their new clinical trial would be in jeopardy if they did not improve the way they labeled their 2ml cryovials. They had always handwritten directly onto their cryovials, but a new trial meant that a much higher number of tests would be carried out over 5 sites across the USA. The scientist wanted to ensure there was no chance that the clinical trial would be compromised, and she wanted to centralize the process of identifying the 2ml cryovials.

The cost of labels had not been budgeted into the trial, therefore the labels and printer needed to be as economical as possible.

Labels needed to be freezer-safe, down to -112°F and there was a slight possibility of contact with ethanol, but this would be unlikely.

To avoid additional costs, we recommended she use their existing HP LaserJet M402N printer, and we supplied them with our CILS 9100LN Laser Printable White Polyester labels (0.5” x 1” wide) on LTR size sheets, which are specifically designed to work on 2ml cryovials at -112°F.

We also supplied a low-cost, entry-level label design and print software so that the laboratory had complete control over their label printing. They now print their labels centrally and distribute the ready printed labels with the 2ml cryovials to their centers across the country as part of the clinical trial kit.

We try to make the specifying process for labels as simple as possible by understanding your needs, make label recommendations and provide samples if required. We also endeavor to use your existing printer hardware to avoid unnecessary costs in setting up a durable label solution.

I just wanted to let you know I received the labels. Thank you, it was a delight doing business with you and your company!" - Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Sciences.
